Since we have no idea as to when Rahvin's real life will calm down (though I suspect it will be after tax season), Ryltar will be moved to the background.  He's still with the party for ease of re-insertion, but he won't be taking part in battles or skill challenges or the like.  Luckily we have Alekson to make the numbers back up to 5 :)

Vengeance's charge hits home, the shadowy figure emitting a screech that sounds like steam escaping a kettle as the avenger's glowing blade carves into it.  It's form darkens and it seems to become more solid as Vengeance retreats to the wall for cover.  Two of the creatures rush at Vengeance, one of them sinking it's insubstantial fingers into the Gith's chest, it's touch draining at the avenger's very life essence.  Drawing on a combination of his natural agility, and the psychic defences of his people, Vengeance manages to avoid the swiping hand of the other shadow.

A third shadow rushes forward at the rest of the group, it's deadly touch catching Finceleb unawares.  The knight tries to dodge but is just grazed by the attack which eats away at his strength.  The last creature, the one hit by Vengeance, retreats a little down the corridor, it's form once more growing dim and incorporeal.  As the party prepares to retaliate to the creature's sudden attack, Vengeance, Finceleb, and Rolen hear a voice whispering in their minds.  The words are soft, barely detectable, but they claw at the heroes' conscious minds, eating away at the edge of the sanity......

Vengeance just barely manages to make out a form that emerges from the corridor wall opposite him.  It appears similar to the other shadows, but somehow darker.... more menacing......

Shadow 2 attacks Finceleb with Shadow Touch: 16 vs Reflex, 17 necrotic damage

Shadow 3 attacks Vengeance with Shadow Touch: 22 vs Reflex,  14 necrotic damage

Vengeance activates Iron Mind(Immediate Interrupt)

Shadow 4 attacks Vengeance with Shadow Touch: 10 vs Reflex

Shadow 1 has taken 8 damage

Mad Whispers (Aura):  Any party member that ends its turn in the aura takes 5 psychic damage, and the creature slides them up to 2 squares.

Ok, everyone that beat the Shadows in Initiative take your round 1 actions.  Since Finceleb can't actually beat them I don't need an Initiative from him, but I do still need one from Rolen (remember to add the +2 bonus from Jett's Combat Leader ability)

Vengeance's actions

 Minor: Oath shadow on Finceleb

Move: shift away from shadows

Standard: Charge Finceleb's shadow with Overwhelming Strike 19 or 30 vrs AC for 21 radiant damage. (includes charnge and flank bonuses and 1 point unity damage from Finceleb)

on a hit shift closer to party and pull shadow to my old location

Monster knowledge roll: 25 for Dungeoneering/Nature and Religion which is one better.  If I find out anything useful besides the radiant canceling insubstantial? , I'll pass it on to the group.

Using superior footwork to gain a momentary advantage, Vengeance charges to his friend's aid and attempts to rejoin the safety of the group. "There my friends!" the gith gasps while indicating with his sword, "It seems these shadows have a master.  Bring the might of holy power onto them, they cannot abide its touch!"

Vengeance's sword once more strikes true, slicing into the shadow monster attacking Finceleb, causing it to screech much like the first one as it's form gains solidity.  As the avenger finishes calling out to his allies, the insane whispering clouds his thoughts, making it hard for him to think clearly.  His head begins to ache and against his conscious will he steps away from his companions, walking out amongst the Shadows once more....... (Vengeance takes 5 psychic damage and is slid 2 squares away from the party)

The creatures before you are Wraiths, incorporeal creatures born of evil and darkness, despising light and all living things.  The more menacing figure is a Mad Wraith, a more powerful creature that attacks the mind of those around it, rather than their life force.

Wraith

Resist: 10 Necrotic, Insubstantial, Immune to poison and disease

Vulnerable: Radiant (loses insubstantial until the start of it's next turn)

Spawn Wraith: When the wraith kills a humanoid, that humanoid becomes a wraith figment at the start of this wraith’s next turn.

Shadow Touch (melee): Deals necrotic damage and recieves a large damage boost if the wraith is invisible

Shadow Glide (free, when hit by an attack that doesn't deal radiant or force damage): The wraith becomes invisible until it hits or misses with an attack or until the end of the encounter. The wraith teleports up to 6 squares and cannot attack until the end of its next turn.

Mad Wraith

Resistances and Vulnerabilities: See Wraith above.

Mad Whispers(aura): see post above

Touch of Madness(melee): Deals psychic damage and target takes a -2 penalty to all defences(save ends)

Touch of Chaos(melee, recharge): Deals psychic damage and the wraith slides the target up to 5 squares. The target must then use a free action to make a basic attack against its nearest ally.

Miss: Half damage, and the wraith slides the target up to 2 squares.

The first wraith re-enters the fray, hurling itself through the gloom to sink it's phantom fingers into Vengeance, who staggers as his very life fource is drained away.  The greater Mad Wraith sinks into the stone of the floor, rising up behind the avenger.  It lashes out with it's touch but Vengenace's mind proves too strong for it to infect completely,  the Gith managing to resist the worst of the attack, though his head does ache from the strain.  The entire party can now hear the insane whispering in their minds, tearing at their sanity, though the protection provided by Jett's ghostly armour lessens the effect on the warlord.

Two of the other wraiths engage Finceleb, though weither they can sense the threat that the holy knight presents to them or simply figure that his heavy armour will inhibit his ability to dodge their draining touch who can say?  The paladin is struck by both creatures, the massive sudden drain almost enough to make the knight pass out.  Fending them off desperately with his icy blade, Finceleb straightens, preparing to dish out some payback.

The final creature drifts though the walls and attacks Rolen, the surprised monk unable to avoid the attack.  The wriath's strike catches him squarely, eating way at his stength......

Wratih 1 attacks Vengeance with Shadow Touch: 21 vs Reflex, 13 necrotic damage

Mad Wraith attacks Vengeance with Touch of Chaos: 14 vs Will, 13/2 = 6 psychic damage

Wraith 2 attacks Finceleb with Shadow Touch: 28 vs Reflex, crit! 18 necrotic damage

Wraith 3 attacks Finceleb with Shadow Touch: 26 vs Reflex, 12 necrotic damage

Wraith 4 attacks Rolen with Shadow Touch: 26 vs Reflex, 11 necrotic damage

Finceleb is bloodied (6 hps left)

Vengeance is bloodied (21 hps left)

Wraith 1 has taken 8 damage

Wraith 2 has taken 10 damage

Ouch!  >.<  Nasty little round for team monster!  Everyone is now in the Mad Wraith's aura, it's maddening whispers threatening your sanity (well, except for Jett who has Resist 5 psychic......).

Waiting on actions from Everyone. (May edit post should Jett tell me he wants to use his Powerful Warning).

Alekson, finally entering the fray, although from a distance, gathers frost into his hands once more, this time shooting a ray of frost at one of the wraiths striking Finceleb.

 Move: Out of the aura.

Standard: Ice rays on Wraith 2/3 (2 priority, but 3 if it's out of range)

 Icy Rays | 15 vs. Reflex | 13 damage
Hit: 1d10 + Intelligence modifier cold damage, and the target is immobilized until the end of your next turn.
Miss: The target is slowed until the end of your next turn.

 Vengeance's Actions

Standard: Deadly Stride vrs Oath target 29 or 22 vrs AC for 24 Radiant damage. (includes unity damage from Finceleb)

Use the shift 3 to get to a valid attacking position.

Move(if possible): shift to flank with Finceleb IF it can be done and still maintain Oath property.

Minor: Enduring Spirit (+4 to all defenses until the end of my next turn)

Note: armour bonuses active

Taking on his own wraithform, Vengeance glides towards his foe, his sword once more robbing it of its defenses.  "Strike it now, my friends!"

Since Icy Rays can target 2 creatures, I'll roll an attack vs Wraith 3 as well.

Alekson backs away from the Wraiths, the insane mummerings fading from his mind.  Gathering his arcane might, he sends twin lances of cold against the spectral shadows attacking Finceleb.  The wraiths dodge the icy rays with unnatural agility, but the icy cold of the spell comes close enough to slow their movements somewhat.

Vengeance also moves to Finceleb's aid, his form growing as spectral as the wraiths as he glides passed and through the ones surrounding him to strike his oath target once more.  His glowing blade draws another scream from the shadowy creature as it's body once more seems to grow darker and gain substance under the punishment of the avenger's holy light.  As he moves to flank the wraith with the sorely wounded paladin, the maddening whispers in his mind once more cause him to stagger out of control away from the group, back towards the Mad Wraith as the pounding ache in his head grows more intense......

Alekson attacks Wraith 3 with Icy Rays: 15 vs Reflex

Vengeance takes 5 psychic damage and is slid 2 squares away from the party.

Finceleb is bloodied (6 hps left)

Vengeance is bloodied (16 hps left)

Wraith 1 has taken 8 damage

Wraith 2 has taken 22 damage, is slowed and has lost it's insubstantial quality.

Wraith 3 is slowed.

Waiting on actions from Finceleb, Jett, and Rolen

Jett grimaces, thinking how tough these shadows are likely to be, without radiant weapons.  Oh, well.  One at least is a valid target. Best to take it down fast.

Standard:  Relentless Wounding (vs oath target, which I think is the substantial wraith 2)

(13 vs AC, 20 damage, +4 damage from any following hits (enc))

Minor: heal Finceleb for surge +6, and hope Vengeance doesn't drop...

Move: separate from group a little.  The aura won't hurt me, but can still shift me, and I'm likely the number two target, after Vengeance.

also:  Powerful warning readied for Vengeance (let's make something else substantial!), and I'm considering an action surge if wraith 2 isn't dropped.  Also hoping for a reroll if RW missed.

(Agh!  just rolled...  Vengeance:  reroll please?)

Jett unleashes a powerful shot from his new longbow, the arrow streaking towards the solid wraith.  Even substantial, the creature retains it's unnatural agility and dodges out of the arrow's path.  Vengeance's eyes flash and the arrow turns in mid-air to chase after the Wraith, striking it squarely. A gush of blackish ichor bursst from the wound as the shadow monster screams in pain, the shadows around the corridor stretching out to engulf the creature, which vanishes without a trace.....

Wraith 2 uses Shadow Glide: (it becomes invisible and teleports) Stealth Check: 38

Wraith 1 has taken 8 damage

Wraith 2 has taken 42 damage(bloodied), is slowed and has lost it's insubstantial quality.  Any attacks made against it gain a +4 damage bonus until the end of the encounter.

Wraith 3 is slowed.

Waiting on actions from Finceleb and Rolen.

@ Rolen.  Since Steel Wind is only a blast 2, the enemy need to be standing adjacent for you to hit multiples, which they aren't anymore since one of the ones on Finceleb teleported thanks to his Shadow Glide ability.  Still, since Finceleb is bloodied and you could help take the pressure off of him so I'll resolve your attack against Wraith 3.

Rolen takes a quick step away from the wraith attacking him, his spear blurring as he stabs at the remaining wraith on Finceleb, which screeches as the enchanted weapon impales it's smoky flesh again and again.  Once more the shadows of the corridor stretch out to engulf the wraith, which vanishes from sight.  The insane whisperings in the monk's mind intensify with this action, an ache forming in his head as he stumbles involuntarily closer to the majority of the remaining wraiths.

Free from attackers thanks to his comrade's quick actions, and his spirit bolstered by Jett's inspiring words, Finceleb strides towards the Mad Wraith, Bahamut's power flaring in his blade as holy light joins with the FrostFang's primordial cold.  Yelling out a challenge, he sweeps his sword at the shadowy abomination, barely connecting as the wraith desperately tries to dodge the radiant blade.  Dark steam erupts from the wraith's wound, it's body solidifying briefly.   Finceleb's aches increase as the Mad Wraith's persistent psychic attack takes it's toll on his mind.

The wraith's forms regain their insubstantial nature as they move to attack the party.  Finceleb, Vengeance and Rolen find themselves under assault from the remaining wraiths, but fortune is with the group as the wraiths fail to connect with any of their swiping limbs....

Rolen takes 5 psychic damage from Maddening Whispers(Aura) and is slid 2 squares towards the Mad Wraith.

Finceleb marks the Mad Wraith with Divine Challenge.

Finceleb attacks Mad Wraith with Holy Strike: 20 vs AC, 16 radiant damage

Finceleb takes 5 psychic damage from Maddening Whispers(Aura)

Mad Wraith's Recharge: 2

Mad Wraith attacks Finceleb with Touch of Madness: 10 vs Will

Wraith 1 attacks Vengeance with Shadow Touch: 17 vs Reflex

Wraith 4 attacks Rolen with Shadow Touch: 15 vs Reflex

Finceleb is bloodied (21hps left)

Vengeance is bloodied (16 hps left)

Wraith 1 has taken 8 damage

Wraith 2 has taken 42 damage(bloodied) and  is invisable and slowed .  Any attacks made against it gain a +4 damage bonus until the end of the encounter.

Wraith 3 has taken  10 damage and is invisible and slowed.

Mad Wraith has taken 8 damage.

Ok, that was a poor round for team Wraith.... a poor round indeed.  The Mad Wraith's Aura is encompassing everyone except Jett and Alekson.

Waiting on actions from Everyone.

Alekson appears to gather light from the surrounding area, before releasing it on Finceleb's target, before frost tips his fingers once more, and a burst of frost erupts where the wraith is.  "Try to escape when you shine like the sun!"

Move: If needed, move within range of Light.

Minor: Light.  No roll is listed, so tell me if I need to.

Standard:  Icy Terrain on Mad Wraith. (Woo! Crit!)

Light's used before Icy Terrain, to see if it affects their passive

 Icy Terrain | 29 vs. Reflex | 11 damage (Crit: 13)
Hit: 1d6 + Intelligence modifier cold damage, and the target falls prone.
Effect: The burst creates a zone that lasts until the end of your next turn or until you end it as a minor action. The ground of the zone is difficult terrain.

 Light vs.
The target sheds bright light until the end of the encounter or until you use this power again. The light fills the target’s space and all squares within 4 squares of it. Putting out the light is a free action.

@Alekson: Unfortunately the Light cantrip can't be cast upon creatures, only objects and unoccupied squares.  If you want to do it for theatrical effect then fine, but it'll have no in-game effect on the wraith.  The good news is that your orb inflicts an additional 2d6 damage on a crit and so your actual damage from Icy Terrain is 20 cold damage.  Not too shabby.

So far Both Rolen and Alekson have hit the Mad Wraith.  The squares beside and behind the Mad Wraith are difficult terrain and the wraith itself has been knocked prone.  Rolen takes 5 psychic damage at the end of his turn and is slid 2 squares away from the Mad Wraith, back towards the Wraith he had moved away from, leaving his space open for Vengeance to shift into should he wish.

Waiting on actions from Vengeance, Jett, and Finceleb.
