The pilots don't respond.  They simply continue to stare into nothingness, twitching and drooling on themselves.

"Get those Pilots outta there, and call up command, tell them we have a problem. We gotta try to land this heap of junk or all of us are gonna go see were troopers go after a dirt nap."

Doc states as he gets up to the cockpit entrance, taking a very intense view over the controls, Trying to remember being tought emergency drop procedures.

Re: 3:16 - Planet Designation "Bosch"

    OOCDoc's NFA (7): 8

The pilots are moved out of the way and Doc sits down at the controls.  He works the dials, buttons, switches and the control stick feverishly as the ground fast approaches.  The reverse rockets come on, but the angle isn't right and there just isn't enough time to correct it.

    Then darkness...

Later, everyone wakes up.  The fires are out, but the ship is badly damaged.  Several men are dead.

"Sir, it's the LT" one trooper says, holding Doc's radio.  "He says we're to pull ourselves together and continue our mission."

Everyone is outside of the pod now, about 15 men and women having survived.  A few are keeping guard while others apply first aid to the wounded.

OOCWhat now?  Oh, and which of your weapons do you have ready (ie, your "default" weapon)?

"Well this is off to a great start" Doc says while patting himself down to check for damage.

"Alright then, how many troopers we got fit to fight, and how many require downtime. Corporal whats our status, (pauses, looks around then yells) CORPORAL!

    OOC

Sidearm for the role, HMG will be used pretty much in a more defensive field

Re: 3:16 - Planet Designation "Bosch"

    "SERGEANT!"

Monsignor took to his feet, scanning the area long enough to gather his bearings. "Looks about fif'teen o' us left. A few dead. Those that were harmed are bein' treated." The Corporal let out a faint grunt as he cracked his neck to the side, lightly massaging his neck before continuing. It was just a minor motion to ease himself mentally. "An' a few are guardin'."

A thin-lipped grin spread across the man's face. "Whut now, Sergeant?"

OOC... PBF's are a whole different creature. But, it's a learning process.... E-Cannon, plz and thank you.

Re: 3:16 - Planet Designation "Bosch"

"Well... 15 good to go eh, we'll take 11 and leave 4 to guard the rest, cant come back to a mass grave right. OR do you have a better idea?"

Doc seriously asks Monsignor knowing the years of combat experience lends itself to out of the box thinking

Re: 3:16 - Planet Designation "Bosch"

OOCI'm going to assume default, but I don't know enough about the weapons to choose: Could you post a description of them somewhere? Also sorry for the lack of posts, I've spent the last 2 days staying up till 2am runing a CoC game....my online games kinda slipped my mind. Sorry.

Jet grabs a few of the more together survivors and establishes a preimiter while command gets off its *** and thinks of what to do.

Re: 3:16 - Planet Designation "Bosch"

OOCNova, the weapons' stats are listed on the character sheets.  The numbers are how many kills they do at Close, Near, and Far ranges.  We'll assume you're defaulting to the Slug Rifle.

    Rolling for "dominance" (vs. NFA):

Aliens (7): 5 (Aliens win, set range to "Close")
    Tex(4): 3 (Slug Rifle)
    Doc (7): 2 (Sidearm)
    Jet(4): 6 (FAIL) (Slug Rifle)
    Monsignor(2): 3 (FAIL) (E-Cannon)

Suddenly, some of the Troopers on guard shout out over the comm, "Incoming!"  Tex and Doc notice it, too, but nearly too late, as the "cat men" are already charging into their midsts!

OOCHere's where it gets a little crunchy.
I've spent 3 tokens from my pool to put a mess of aliens here.  The fight is starting at CLOSE range.
This round the aliens will be ATTACKING.

Briefly, what do you try to do?  Don't roll yet.
    Here's what you can do:
ATTACK with the weapon you have out. - FA
CHANGE RANGE by one level and/or SWITCH WEAPONS. - NFA
SWITCH to Hand-to-Hand and ATTACK. - FA
SWITCH to Grenades and ATTACK. - FA (Grenades cause a Kill to any Trooper at Close range who fails his die roll!)

Attack: what else to do when suddenly surprised by hostiles in the perimeter.

"TROOPERS FIRE AT WILL" Doc cries as he tries to aim a shot at the nearest "hostile"

OOCSwitch to hand-to-hand mode and attack. That's what he would do... Curse his daft psychosis.

The blood rushes through Monsignor's veins as he makes a bull-rush straight towards the closet foe. Laughter gleefully rings throughout the area; his mind set on the exhilaration caused by the unexpected assault.

Re: 3:16 - Planet Designation "Bosch"

OOCNow it starts!  I spend an extra point from my pool to do THIS: (-1 to FA and NFA this encounter).

Suddenly a wave of anger runs through the back of everyone's minds!  Growling voices whisper for them to attack their comrades, the unworthy bastards!  Most of the troopers are able to fight off the feeling and ignore the voices, but it's very distracting.

    Aliens (AA 6): 9 (FAIL)
    Doc (FA 2): 6 (FAIL)
    Monsignor (FA 7): 5 (1 KILL)
    Tex (FA 5): 10 (FAIL)
    Jet (FA 5): 8 (FAIL)

    OOCOk in order:
    1) Monsignor: Describe what you do and how you kill (1) alien with your armored hands!  You can change range by one level for free, but since your gun is no longer ready, that isn't a good idea yet. (You've removed one of the 3 tokens!)  Also say what you're going to do next.
    2) Tex describes how he fails to kill anything, and what he does next.
    3) I describe the Alien's failure, and what they do next.
    4) Jet describes how he fails to kill anything, and what he does next.
    5) Doc describes how he fails to kill anything, and what he does next.

Have fun with this part.  Failure doesn't have to be boring. :)

Re: 3:16 - Planet Designation "Bosch"

OOCYes, your "initiative" for the round is determined by your die roll, and there's a chance that the people going before you could invalidate what you do.  Kind of a pain, but not really any worse than most combats.
