Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Daedalus could hear the giggling and fits of laughter creeping up from the hall way. He knew that girl had a kind heart that has been wrapped in layers of fear. He glanced over the console and noticed some readings were just not right. Pulling his commlink from a satchel on the side of his wheelchair. Hoping Aemon was not causing too much trouble .
"Aemon. Aemon. This is Griff on the bridge and i'm getting some strange read outs up here. What's going on back there?"
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Wendi takes the weapon from Captain McCord's outstretched hand, slides it in place behind her, and curtseys low.
"Twas my pleasure Milord." Begins an unrestrained giggling and then dashes tumbles and twirls down the front hall towards Griff.
"Hey Griff, hey, Griff could you walk on your hands like this?" Wendi places two hands on the console upending her entire person and staring down at Griff from the top of her outstretched arms. "Then you wouldn't need your legs."
And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
"Ta ma de...."
Aemon reaches over to the comm. on the wall console and pulls the handset free.
"Sorry 'bout that Griff. Musta knocked a sensor when I was fiddlin' with the lines. Any ambers ya got goin' on back 'ere should be straightened out in a tick."
The mechanic checks his gauntlet's display.
"I'd noticed a pressure differential building between the primary fuel feed lines. Nothing worrisome, an' I can fix it in no time once we're down an' the engine's off. Was running a diagnostic on the sensors to track it 'case I have to tackle it afore then."
He leans back in to turn the speaker's volume up before swinging back around so that his legs are once more laid out on the deck. Before falling back into the compartment he presses the comm button one more time.
"No sudden hard burns, we should be shiny. Think it's a flutter valve somewhere's stickin' a bit."
Letting the handset bounce back on its coiled line, Aemon ducks his head to his chest and leans back into the engine compartment.
"An' if something does go wrong I'm a liou coe shway duh biao-tze hun hoe-tze duh ur- tze." He reaches out to pat the strut before pulling himself back over the lines. "C'mon mei-mei, don't prove me wrong."

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Griff glanced back over the console noticing the leds flickering. He trusted in Aemon skills and knew it would take a good amount to bring down this boat.
"Alright Shae. I'll take your word for it. Just try to keep from getting yourself stuck back there. It'll be easier to replace you than try to get you out." He tucked the commlink back into his satchel. Just then he saw the ever adorable and strange Wendi doing a handstand on the console talking about walking on hands.
"Kuh ai, shao jeh, kuh ai. I don't really mind not being able to walk and i don't think i'm near as graceful as you to do that forever. As long as i got the black and the very least atmo under my wings i'll be a very content man. My legs may never get better, but that isn't stopping me from seeing the verse."
Griff looked into the innocent eyes of Wendi and knew she'd seen some horrible things, but still adored her sense of energy.
"You know i was at the battle of serenity valley right? Well on one of the last runs out of that place i saw the medics pulling on some poor kid with an NCO helping him on board . He wasn't more than 16. Artillery had got him pretty bad the sergeant told. He was bloody and barely concious.. His NCO leaned over him and told him something i'll never forget"
'Remember now Chambers. When you can't run, you crawl. When you can't do that anymore you get someone to carry you. I carried you to this nice and pretty boat. Now this boat is going to carry you the rest of way home.' the grizzled NCO looked over at me. 'Isn't that right Cap?.'
"I looked into the cold and hardened eyes of that NCO and nodded my head. He then took off his cross and put into the hands of that kid, Chambers. He got off my boat and walked back onto that battlefield. I never learned that NCO's name, and i did end up taking that boy back home. Unfortunetly, it was in a pine box. I don't know what made that Sergeant walk back to the valley of death. I just know that the same thing kept me flying that day and keeps me flying still. Legs or no legs."
Griff looked at Wendi's big gleaming eyes and grinned as he poked the tip of her nose.
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Sebastion , climbs out from his cabin, does an exajerated yawn. and says loudly and hopefully " Good morning chaps, whats for scoff," he catches himself in a mirror and scoffs "Beheavens I look a state".( its afternoon and as ever Sebastion looks imaculate in his silk monigramed PJ's.)
Sebastion sits down on the dining table and then stairs off into space for while, whilst watching out of the corner of his eye hoping for breakfast to arrive.

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Wendi stands (on her hands on the console) completely enthralled by Griff's story head tilted slightly sideways and a more serious smile on her face, untill it ends. Then her body bends backwards without a flip or a jerk gently landing her feet upon the deck floor. "Yeah it would be hard to fly standing on your hands. You're a realy good pilot Griff--oh Sebastian's up!
Wendi flips end over end over end back down the front hall towards the Galley.

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Sebastian immediately looks up from his day dream and says " Good afternoon miss Wendi, how are you on this fine day" Sebastion watches with a slightly bemused look on his face as the young lady acrobatically cart wheels down the coridoor.
" When we land we shall have to have a contest of skill, your pistols versus my Bow, what say you?" Without pausing for breath he continues " My dear lady I don't believe I have finished telling you about how I became planetary champion it was truly scandalous, it was never a line cutter** , how about you rustle me up some nosh whilst i tell you all about it?"

McCord reachs the bridge just in time to move out of Wendi's way. "An I wonder why we aways have ta' spend so much on coffee when we reach port..." he remarks with a grin. How are we doin' Griff? Those alarms anything important?" He asks as he slides into the co-pilots seat.

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
"How shi sung chung, lao buhn. We'll be hitting Athens air space in a few hours. Don't worry about the alarms. That's just Shae trying to hang him self while doing maintenance again. As long as we don't hard burn til he says we're clear we should be feh chun jahn. Just so you know though, that girl hasn't touched any coffee. I'd be scared to see what happens if she did. Either way she is Sebastian's problem now." Griff returns the grin, but it soon vanishes. With a straight face he looks out towards the black and the approaching planet. "Any work lined up when we make landfall?"
"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
"Ok"
Wendi liked how people talked here all fancy it reminded her of the circus. She then went about scrurrying up something for Sebastian to eat. She'd once seen her daddy shoot arrows out of the air as they were shot at him, she wondered if she could do that?

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Sebastion watches Wendi rustle about the kitchen with ease, he is very glad to have her onboard, he had never met any one quite like her before. An enigma to him but none the less one he would protect with his life, well atleast have a gentlemenly duel over certainly.
Sebastion begins the tale of his competition, which surprisingly isn't too exajherated or too boring.
Sebastion muses to himself of what the rim will be like, the furthest he been from home is the competion circuit around a few of the more civilized border planets, those civlized enough to be of an achery standard worth of a visit.
Sebastions tale trails off as he gets lost in his over romantasied vision of the rim, damsels in distress and other mild peril he will no doubt find himself in.

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Wendi slides some of the now warmed ships food onto a plate in front of Sebastian. "But if he hit the Bullseye, how did you win? I thought you said you were the champion Sebastian?"

Re: Big Damn Serenity Game
Aemon slides the enabler back into a pocket on his jumpsuit, then gently pats the sensor before pulling himself back out of the pit.
"Behave while we enter atmo at boo yao ming duh soo doo, would you?"
The engineer scoots back from the pit a bit before rolling onto his stomach and ducking back in to remove the snap-link. While coiling the line and replacing the deck plate, he continues to talk to the engine.
"The last thing we need is one of the fuel lines to stick open while we're breaking atmo. I know that won't happen, no one's been back 'ere to rig it to do so...."
He picks a metal cup up from the deck and fills it from a tap line leading to the engine compartment. After taking a sip he looks at it with a half-cocked eyebrow.
"Hmm...."
Swishing the liquid in his mouth before swallowing, he looks slightly puzzled before breaking into a coughing fit.
"Ah. Yeah...."
After tidying up a little more he walks through the aft hall toward the Galley, but the sound of Sebastion regailing Wendi with the story of his archery prowess causes him to take the back stairs to go the long way around to reach the bridge. Muttering under his breath as he goes. "Titim gan éirí ort..."
