Brelsan looks at the calm animals. "So, anyone in need of healing?"

Jack: "They'll only stay calm for a minute, and any threat will also break the spell.  They were probably just startled by the doors collapsing; rats don't normally attack.  Unless cornered.  Let's move on."

Jack to Brelsan: "We might need your healing more when we are deeper in."

Jack: "Did any of you bring torches?  I have only one, and it will last about an hour.  I didn't think we'd be needing any this soon."

Ok, You've got 4 exits from this room.

3 doors and the entry way you came through(It's hailing at the moment so I won't recommend it)
North, South and East. The north and south doors open into rooms while the East leads into a corridor.

The rats leave to the East at a run.

OOCI'm going to refrain from giving advice one where to go because I already know what lies behind every door.

Jack: "I think we should try this one first." He points to the northern door.

Re: A Long way to Lonely Shores

OOCSorry I read the map incorrectly and the rooms are East and West and the corridor is North. (The rats ran North) But to make it easier I've changed the door you are pointing at to the East.

The adventurers head through the door to the North. The only object of interest in this chamber is a statue at the far end. It resembles a sarcophagus standing upright, except that the head of the figure carved upon its lid looks distorted and seems to have tendrils instead of hair. A pair of batlike wings extends from its temples. Suddenly, its eyes open, revealing the glow of green flames, and the head flies forward to attack!

    Init please.

Brelsan launches an attack which hits the flying beast front on. He smashes it's wing and causes it to sway in the air.

The hideous beast elogates it's jaw and lets out a terrifying shriek.
    Fortitude saves please. (DC 12)

Re: A Long way to Lonely Shores

The shriek pierces through the ears of the party, fortunately almost everyone shrugs of the scream with gritty fortitude.
Romlu is the only person to get struck down by it and he suddenly stops talking and moving. His weapon held high seemly about to strike the evil flying head but unable to move.

Jack slings a stone at the beast but doesn't manage to connect with it. It's too small and flies to quickly.
Eldan tries to subdue it to help his friends but manages to miss everything as well.
Brelsan on the other hand swipes at the beast and completely misses as well.

The flying head lashes at Brelsan and misses as well.

Jack drops his sling and attacks it with his short spear but misses wide again.

    Eldan's turn again.
