You manage to catch several small rabbits to supplement your travel bread and trail mix.

    Star
Offers to do up the rabbits, cleans chops them up and drops them in the pot of water with a few peppers from his stock.  In his own pot he brews up a strong tea and when it is ready offers it up to the party as long as they provide their own mug and bowl.

    Shaggy
As is his routine when setting up camp armed only with his axe he moves out a couple of hundred yards, its never the same distance or the same direction, and he makes a perimeter check around the camp site before coming back to eat.

Alright you find nothing and the night passes smoothy, as does the next day. At about 10am on the third day you each need to make a spot check.

OOCI'd post more but I've spent the last day inslalling linux on this computer for a freind and have not really been home mu8ch to update. Also I don't have my mod here. I'll try to post a really good update tomorrow to make up for it.

At least I've followed my at least one update a day rule decently....

TO make up for it I'm posting a world description in the set up thread: It doesn't have much effect on the adventure but hey, I like my world and someday I may get a party that stays around for sufficent levels to explore it

Ooc: Dice thing is a bit weird just figuring it out.  Should tell the Forum admins that the dice/formatting/options when you post don't work in Opera.  Had to load up IE to get them to appear.

    Aabrax's Perception:

    6

    Bragon's Perception:

    9

Soultion: Use Firefox instead ;) or just use [dice ] [/dice] tags. There are 3 ways to instert dice: The drop down menu, Hand enter the tags, or click the d6 at the far right of the menu. One of the above should work for you...

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

The wind in your face is cool and comfortable. The road beneath your feet is level. An occasional ancient cobblestone peeks through the dirt road, indicating decades of neglect. Suddenly small creatures hiding behind the rocks spring into view adn begin to move toward you. With a shriek, the small humanoids attack. Scaled and rust-coloured, they have reptilian heads and tails.

OOCOk, no one made the perception check so your all surprised. Therefor they get a surprise round. *evil DM grin*. Now init is going to be intersting as I've had games derail while everyone waited for the next person to post. I was thinking of each person can go once a round and they act in the order they post in, if you wnat to delay just post to let me know? I'm sure there are all sorts of ways this is open to abuse but I think we can all agree not to do that? Or we could do the old way of everyone posts there intentions and then I sort them into order and we watch as unexpected things happen...that kinda removes the exact positioning aspect of the game but coould also be fun. Or we could all just try and check the board a lot. What say you all?

Ok the map is up:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/canageek/2653449291/sizes/l/

The grass and path are both normal flat ground, for combat neither has any effect. The rocks are very large (about 1.5m/5ft tall) and can't be steped on but can be climbed if you feel like it. The brush is very dense, but you think you could force your way through it though it might be slow. If you want game details of anything on the map let me know ok? I don't feel like typing them out right now. I'll post the suprise round in a bit when I'm back at my board.

[ooc]Well, I'm more concerned with how we know if somebody hit or miss. It affects our actions so much. It will be really slow if we have to wait for you to post after every attack.[/ooc]

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

Roll attack and dammage at the same time first of all. I guess I could just tell you ACs if you all agree thats how you want to play it.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

Well, you would need to tell us both AC and HP for each monster in order for it to really speed things up as we'd need to know if a monster died after we hit it. I'm not entirely sure I'd like to play that way as it's very messed up. But at the same time if we knew both those things then we could play the turns for both our characters in 1 post. Speeding things up considerably.

1 post for Aabrax and Bragon,
1 post for Star and Shaggy,
    1 post for the Monsters
    Round over in 3 posts.

It is a bit weird so I'll go with whatever you guys want.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

The creatures coming towards you look thusly: "These small reptilian humanoids have dark red scales, wear hide armor, and carry a spear and three javelins and a light shield each.

One throws a Javelin at Shaggy, the others charge forwards.

    Attack: 9

    That would be a miss....

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)

OOCI'll go along with posting both characters in a single post, rolling init and first action then let DM sort out the turns when he posts
    Shaggy

Attack closest critter in front of him
    init 17 + 1 = 18
    Attack with axe 19 + 6 = 25
    Damage 6 + 3 =  9

    Star

Shoot crossbow bolt at closest critter in front of Shaggy
    init 4
    Attack 1 + 2 = 3
    Damage 5

) Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.
