Barwin has just returned from the back room with several shovels, which he leans against the counter.

Violet steps up to Barwin. "We're looking for Old Sara. Have you seen her around?" She pays close attention to his answer to gauge if he's lying. (Insight check: 16)

"She came by a couple days ago, wanted to see how her shop he done since she sold it to me."

You don't think he is lying, but something strikes you as wrong about the statement.

Wagul bristles as he speaks, standing in the doorway at her full height, hands on hips and glaring at Barwin with her teeth partially exposed.

OOCEdit: Wow, Waguls scarier than I thought!

OOCYou are a 6'2", 250lb, DRAGONperson with Fangs that can breath fire and you didn't think you are scary?

    Re: Looking for Old Sara

While his comrades are interrogating Barwin, Jonathan walked over to investigate the shovels, curious about what Barwin has been doing with them.

    Nature check? 22

He also wonders why Barwin was carrying a few of them.  What was he doing?  Who was he working with?

You can't tell from this distance, you'd have to walk up to the counter.

I thought "Jonathan walked over to investigate the shovels" covered that, no?  Is there some kind of checks I should make before I do so?

OOCSorry, misread. *blames RPG.NET for distracting me*

As soon as you approach the desk Barwin inches aways, he suddenly turns and bolts into the back room, and you hear the sound of a heavy bar slamming down over the door.

With a string of obscenities, Wagul launches herself forward, gathers speed across the room and slams into the door with her shoulder.

Yay 100 posts! We're getting close to 1000 for this game so far too... amazing considering none of us have levelled yet. Hooray for RP!
Which reminds me, we never got any exp for the last encounter.

108XP each. Did you remeber to loot the bodies?
While slamming into the door causes it to shake the door does not budge.

You manage to loosen one of the hinges, but not enough to get through.

You manage to find some axes, they'll give +5 to someones attempt to force the door.

OOCYes, we did get the loot. We put the gold towards fixing the fire-damaged house, and kept a jade sun/moon pendant with a possible relation to Pelor and Sehanine.
