Messing up other players and blaming it on "Roleplaying"

Has anyone used roleplaying to mess up another person's plans?  And when they yell out "Dude!" you reply with "Sorry, just roleplaying"?

Oh yeah, took advantage of my Halfling hearing and an irascible chaotic personality to cause a bar riot.  It ended up with the bard who wanted Elf Wine not getting any and my fighter character killed and resurrected 3 times before the excitement was over.  The only one unscathed was my little Halfling Rogue.  Guess who ended up with the last of the wine.

Why won't they let me play a Kender?  Oh yeah, they seen what I can do with just a Halfling.

Heh ive been on both ends ^_^ I have a kolbold halfdragon dragon shaman(most dragon lineage stackage EVA) who because of his utter lack of patientce and completely chaotic curiosity constantly trips what i know are traps/strangemonsters/ambushes ooc whuile every one discusses how best to bypass them. Mostly its so every one doesnt sit around discussing what this or that lever does for an hour >_< somehow he always escapes unscathed ^_^

Didn't think of that, 2 of my fighter characters are prone to leaping in while everybody discusses the proper way.  Needed some patching up sometimes, even needed Rufus to be brought back from his feast in the halls of the dead with his God.  Sometimes strategy is good but it sure slows the game down.  I'd rather get hurt and advance the plot then to be safe.

Doesn't cost me anything but time to reroll a new character if i have to.  Sometimes its an advantage since you have a better idea what is going to be required and you can disregard some gear you weren't using anyway and grab a frog poker if one was needed.

Re: Messing up other players and blaming it on "Roleplaying"

I had a lot of fun in the last adventure I played with my rogue. I worked to conceal absolutely every bit of loot we came across from the rest of my party, taking it from chests befre the other players had a chance to see it, pickpocketing it from the players themselves, wandering off on my own to "search for traps".
The first few times everyone laughed, after a while they started getting really annoyed. But my DM demanded they succeed on perception tests to notice my sleight of hand and because I had a head start on improving skills (and also a fair bit of luck) they haven't caught me yet.

    I am one rich rogue

Just remember it only takes one roll of fickle dice to make retribution rain down upon your puny head.  Hope you kept up your ducking and dodging feats.

I can swim through sand, if things go pear-shaped I flee

I'm thinking that swimming through sand would make your underwear uncomfortable and saggy unless you are wearing rubber underclothes.

You and I in a pen and paper game at a table would not be a pretty sight for the DM after the second session.
