Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

I was under the inpression pact blades were not something you could just 'find.'

Anyway, I'd imagine Taaj is very interested some shimmering armour (cloth), being the warlock that he is. Any rods and wands he can lay his hands on cause him great happiness too, though preferably rods, because wands are girly and they impossible to hold shotgun style

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

I'm open to pretty much anything I can use (proficiently), like hide armor, scimitars, or things to help Varis (the wolf).  Actually, I'm really a fan of wondrous items.  Forget the +1 to attack and damage rolls, I'd like a nice Everlasting Provisions so I don't go hungry in between battles!

Also, a question: when the Player's Handbook 2 comes out, could we get the bonuses for our character backgrounds (which I have yet to make)?

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

Referring to pactblades: What gave you that impression? They're just a blade, especially tuned for warlocks sure, highly sought after as it says multiple times, but that implies you can have one. :)

Referring to Backgrounds:  You're welcome to use the retraining options to take advantage of new products in between levels, as far as the backgrounds, I'd prefer you take Scales of War backgrounds if you're interested in backgrounds, I'm emailing everyone in the game a pdf excerpt of the dragon article for you to choose from.

I'll update shortly with the link to the first post.

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

The first game post is here: http://forums.dndorks.com/forums/808261/ShowThread.aspx#808261

I have a few questions: What pact and powers do you have Mariachidevil?  Do you need help or suggestions?  Also do you really prefer shimmering cloth over magical leather?

xeric369, what rituals do you have?  (if the vault is having issues let me know).  Also, you have perception as trained. how? I'm assuming you meant to use your extra skill from being human, but humans only get a skill from their own class.  Let me know

Hope everyone enjoys, this period of introduction and player interaction will continue for a while.  If you have an image for your character you want to use (google search is your friend), email it to me (rmathis _@_ dndorks dot com) and I"ll use it as inspiration when I make battle maps, otherwise I"ll be choosing images myself. ;)

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

I think I would prefer shimmering cloth, really. If I could have shimmering leather I'd be super happy, but I doubt it exists.

As for powers and my pact I do have them chosen, but they apparently didn't import with my character, I'll put them in now.

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

The character generator i used might have had a bug but it did say that perception was trainable i can change it if you want and i still have to get around to updating the rituals in fact i'll go do that now

And with magic items i honestly have no idea what they are what with my non-existent 4.0 materials though if its not to overpowered i guess i wouldn't mind a bag of holding since my character isn't the strongest.
Wizards don't get familiars anymore do they?

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

Lucan is a Silent Hunter, giving him a +1 bonus to his (already trained) Perception and Stealth.  Is that okay?

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

an Implement would be nice, but I doubt that would be acceptable for random treasure, so I would say a regen amulet or something to help with my Marking abilites.

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

2 months until the rules for familiars come out, its a feat, but they're awesome now!

Thanks everyone for giving me ideas for your wishlist.

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

Well if you look over here you can read the game in progress: http://forums.dndorks.com/forums/4/808386/ShowThread.aspx#808386

If you like what you see, kdaga (who plays Grieg) hasn't posted in a while, so his position is potentially available if you're interested in taking over his paladin or bringing in a new 4e character.

Re: New 4e Game - Scales of War

Ok np, at this point Grieg can step out, though technically hes more like a fighter who has a few heals per day.  I look forward to whatever you choose to make, I highly recommend downloading the free trial character generator to create your 1st level file and email me the character sheet file.  (rmathis _at_ webcomic .net).  Otherwise feel free to email me any questions, I walked Matt step by step.
