I like (or think I like) the Burning Wheel Revised RPG, and so sometimes I like to play with making characters (like we all do sometimes). So here is Capernus from the D&D 4e game I'm in. I'd normally go for 3 Lifepaths for a D&D character, but 4e chracters are a bit more competent than that, so I'm going with 4 Lifepaths. I could probably do 5, but I'd like some room to grow.
Here we go:

So, the character is a bit younger than the D&D version. That's just the way the system works. Taking the "Veteran" Lifepath as well would probably round him out to the same age and experience, but again, I didn't want to fill it all in at once.
He's charismatic, willful and brave as befitting a "Warlord". He's got an assortment of skills picked up from soldiering, with his "Command" and "Sword" skills being the focus. He also knows how to use armor and a shield. Unlike the D&D 4e character, he's got a black-powder pistol. Why? Because the rules allow it and it's cool. If I could get one for D&D 4e, I probably would.
He's got an Affiliation with his old mercenary group, so he can usually find one of them when he needs a helping hand. But why did he leave? That's something to explore later.
He carries a sword and dirk and basic clothes and traveling gear. He has a suite of chainmail armor, a shield and a riding horse.
He's got some friends here and there from his travels (Circles: B2), but he's dirt poor (Resources: B0) and likely living from job to job. (Ah, the typical "adventurer", also known as "murdering hobo".)
Anyway, there you go. Fun!
