    [Diaspora] Capernus Valorin

This is a weird one, because Diaspora is strictly a hard sci-fi system.  But with a little creativity, this can work.  First, the world.

    The Dayandi System
    Technology: -3 (Metallurgy)
Environment: 2 (One garden world and several survivable words)
    Resources: 1 (Rich)

    Aspects:
    Medieval Backwater
    Unlikely Biospheres
    Countless Tribes of Mutants
    Innumerable Lost Treasures
    Powerless Before the Spelljammers

There are several worlds in the system.  Most have an almost thematic element.  The fire world, the forest world, the dark world, etc.  The largest world, however, has a very diverse geography, improbably so.  It is also home to many tribes of mutants.  Tall and willowy, short and hairy, splay-footed and green, etc.  The world (all of them, really) have a roughly medieval feel to them.  Strangers from the outer darkness, with their bulbous eyes and tentacled heads (or are those helmets?) sometimes come in their spelljammer pods and take slaves or "magic" items.

Capernus comes from this main world where he is a mercenary captain.

    Growing Up:
While Capernus isn't a noble, his family used to be just a few generations ago, and while they have no power or peerage, they still comport themselves with honor and courage, perhaps moreso than they would if they were still nobility.
Aspects: "Honorable to a Fault", "Our Best Days are Behind Us"

    Starting Out:
Capernus entered military service to make ends meet.  He found he had a knack for it.
Aspects: "I'm in Command Here!", "Lead from the Front"

    Moment of Crisis:
On his way to drink himself into a lonely stupor once again, Capernus heard shouts outside.  Goblins were attacking the small village where he had holed up for the night.  Despite the lack of pay, he instinctively charged into the fiery fray and fought the monsters down, helping to save the village, and even going so far as to track the creatures to their base and destroy them.
"Some Things are Just Worth Fighting For", "Raptors?  Why did it have to be Raptors?"

    Sidetracked:
The fellow in the strange clothes with the wierd accent wasn't faring too well against the horde of orcs that surrounded him, despite the powerful wand he used against them.  He ran past Capernus as he bathed in a stream, with 20 orcs coming up behind him.  Throwing on his armor as quickly as he could and readying his magic sword, Capernus fought back the monsters, with the stranger picking them off from behind with his wand of fire.  They never did find the treasure that the stranger had come seeking, but he and Capernus became good friends before long.
Aspects: "Never Let Your Guard Down", "Magic Sword"

    On Your Own:
Capernus has seen a lot since he teamed up with his friend (and his friend's friends), and even traveled to some of the other plane(t)s in those strange spelljammer ships.  While he's fought the good fight, he still feels a bit hollow inside, still seeks some sort of romantic ideal of valor.  Perhaps he'll find it or perhaps he never will.
Aspects: "The Drink Still Calls Me", "5-Foot Shift"

    Skills:
    +5: Tactics
    +4: Stamina, Resolve
    +3: Close Combat, Charm, Intimidation
    +2: Brawling, Agility, Alertness, Oratory
+1: Medical, Survival, Stealth, Animal Handler, Profession: Mercenary

    Health: OOO OO
    Composure: OOO OOO
    Wealth: OOO

    Stunts:
    Steadfast: 1 Extra Composure Box
Warlord: Use my Tactics to get a +1 to Close Combat in combat.
Bodyguard: Use my Intimidation when I'm nearby (in the same zone)
