  • Re: [JotSS] The Tower of Emeth Tol

"Well then little man", the blacksmith says, pausing from his labors, "you're a brave one.  But no matter.  Bravery has never saved them that defy the master.  You three will die like the rest, assuming the things in the dark don't get you first.  So sad.  So sad."  He returns to hammering ...

OOC to Old GrumpOld Grump, first, Aesop took 2 levels of damage from the fall.  You'll need to choose where the damage goes before we continue.  Also, the dice for this game is 2d6, not d20 Also, Grey gets a Learning Point for failure!

OOCClose enough.  There were some misunderstandings, I'm afraid.  I think it's all cleared up now.  And yeah, Rich, using your spell automatically works, but is resisted at AVERAGE[+0], and costs a Downshift to use.  I imagine it's cooler with experience points.  Speaking of which, even though there wasn't really a ...

sidebar Guard Save (TN:9):12 (Actually, that should be a 10, not a 12, but still -- Success!) Aesop Save (TN:9): 8 (Fail!) The unnatural breeze carries the fine red sand to the guard, who sways and blinks for a moment, unsteady and dazed.  Aesop, taking advantage of the guard's hesitation, charges into the spell with his daggers ...

  • Re: [JotSS] The Tower of Emeth Tol

OOCSorry for the delay.  I don't even have an excuse. Having cleared the wall, Aesop kneels to peers into the dim courtyard, but before he can determine anything useful, Marri points out the glow of an approaching torch! OOCThere's simply nowhere to hide up here.  It's either go back down, jump into the trees below, try to ...

  • Re: [JotSS] The Tower of Emeth Tol

The three adventurers gather in the darkness at the base of the wall.  The old vine snakes it's way up and through the stones, making convenient, though partially hidden, handholds.  Grey gives a tug at one thick branch, and though his knuckles scrape on the bare stone, the old, dry vine looks sturdy enough to hold him.  The ...

OOCJust a nod here.  Let me know what you want to do next.

  • Re: [JotSS] The Tower of Emeth Tol

While the guards are wary, they don't consider Aesop and Grey too much of a threat and they don't feel the need to call for backup.  However, Aesop's experience with casing buildings suggests that there are probably about 15 guards in the entire place, twenty tops, and maybe a few guard dogs or something. "Make yourself scarce or ...

  • Re: [JotSS] The Tower of Emeth Tol

OOCAi!  Ok, first of all, this is not a city.  It's just a tower with a wall around it.  There are probably a few building in the courtyard, but you can't tell because the main gate is closed.  Sorry. :( The guards cross their long spears before the door at the strange duo's approach.  They look with disgust at the ...

OOCHopefully not cross-posted with OldGrump... All Failure Ranks and Downshifts recover fully.  Marri heals up 1d6(1) Damage Ranks as well.  She gets to pick which one.  She'll have to wait for the end of the next scene to heal more. The deed done, with surprisingly little blood spilled, the trio continues their trek to ...
